Welcome to the Team: Emily Kania

My name is Emily Kania and I am a current junior undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Design and Development and a minor in Mathematics. On campus, I am involved with the Honors Program as an Honors GPS and PATH Mentor, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, a tour guide for the Lodewick Visitor Center, and Vice President of Marketing for Club Swift.

With my computer science degree, I hope to work for a large technology company working on a product that is able to impact the lives of others. While I know I want to be a software engineer, I am still exploring the different areas within it to see what I enjoy the most. This summer I worked with Android Mobile Development for the first time and really enjoyed it and next summer I will be working with the Cloud and Artificial Intelligence.

At Greenhouse Studios, I am really looking forward to developing my web development skills. A couple years ago, I taught myself basic HTML and CSS and I am excited to use and expand upon this knowledge. I am also excited to be able to apply everything I loved about mobile development to a new area that incorporates creativity I do not get to express in my schoolwork.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing, playing piano, and lifting at the Rec Center.
