Roya Movahed: Creating Human-Centered Work

My name is Roya Movahed and I am pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Media & Design. Coming from a visual communications background, I’m exploring the User Experience/Digital Product Design world at UConn.

After passing years of studying and working in the art and design field, now I assume myself to be a meaningful design creator. Entering the UX design aspect has given me the curiosity to seek people’s usual interactions with each other/products/the whole world!

In the coming academic year, I’m going to focus on examining the aesthetic, psychological, and sociological aspects of digital products in the health category and will research users’ conscious and unconscious behaviors while interacting with mHealth mobile applications.

Working in Greenhouse Studios has given me the opportunity to collaborate with people from different sides which was significantly helpful to improve my teamwork and soft skills. Besides that, as I’m eager to do human-centered designs, I will participate more in the project’s creative process and help the developing team with my UX/UI Designs.

I assume my mission as a designer is to create meaningful designs and put the users as the priority and I wish to influence society with my digital products to solve their problems and enhance social design literacy.

Can’t find me at Greenhouse Studios? I’m at the gym!
