I hope to gain valuable experience in the field that I want to go into after college. Having taken courses in my major, Digital Media and Design, I feel that I’ve found the most benefit from the ones that have partnerships with real clients. I want to learn more about emerging topics and get hands-on experience with some real-world companies that will benefit my future endeavors. At Greenhouse Studios specifically, I would like to work with a variety of people with different specialties. I feel that I am often placed in a group with similar strengths to mine in the classroom. I think it is time to work with people who are skilled in other things so that I can learn more from them, and contribute in a way that shows my different skills as well.
In the future, I’d like to run projects at an advertising company in Boston. I love the city and I think the atmosphere of ad agencies is really where I belong. I enjoy the creative side of things, but I believe my skills are best fit in a position of delegation and leadership. I think that I have big ideas, but other people are why they become realized; I would love to lead a strong team of individuals who are passionate about making big visions come to life. I took a course where I worked on the Charles V|R project and really loved the staff. I also worked closely with Tom Scheinfeldt on my independent study project, and he ultimately led me to apply for an internship position at Greenhouse Studios, so that’s how I got here! During that project, I examined the effects of films and TV shows on society and how they encourage or develop historical conspiracies. Outside of my studies, and work, I am a hip-hop teacher and competition coach for a girl’s team in South Windsor, CT. I also hold the Vice President position at Nutmeg Publishing, UConn’s yearbook organization. I also love cooking shows, my favorite being Masterchef, and aspire to run a food blog at some point in life.
