Geography

Ken’s writings focus on the politics of place and contested sites of memory, especially events of violence and tragedy and sites of conscience in the U.S. and Europe. He is particularly interested in ways that concepts of space and place are used in locative technologies for pictorial narrative and representation. His most recent book is Narrating Space / Spatializing Narrative (with Marie-Laure Ryan and Maoz Azaryahu) reflecting his interest in graphic narrative and storytelling as these relate to cartographic design and data visualization.
