Anke focuses on modernism, media studies, digital humanities, literature and other arts, contemporary aesthetics, and interculturality. She specializes in the idea of the total artwork and is co-founder of the multilingual e-journal, Flusser Studies. Currently, she is working on German Expressionism, gender, and colonialism; digital scholarship evaluation; and interculturality in media theory.
