Welcome, Annie!
As we begin a new semester at Greenhouse Studios, we asked both new and returning students to share a bit about themselves, their summer experiences, upcoming goals at GS, and broader career aspirations. This response is from Annie Gong, one of our new SFA Undergraduate Research Assistants.
Hello! I am Annie Gong and I’m a senior majoring in Digital Media Design with a concentration in Motion Design & Animation. I am also a Eco-Digital Storytelling mentor at the Natural Resources Conservation Academy where I collaborate with high school students using geospatial technology and digital media to create community-based environmental action projects.
I look forward to joining Greenhouse Studios because I have the unique opportunity to merge my design skills with interdisciplinary research, expanding my creativity. I am also excited because the cozy studio space here creates an inviting atmosphere where I can collaborate and experiment on projects with creative, fun people!
After I graduate, my goal is to become a multimedia designer in creative marketing at a professional services firm, while living and working internationally. By integrating my love of traveling with my professional pursuits, I am able to contribute to global marketing projects while also engaging and learning from diverse cultural perspectives.
In my final year at UConn, I want to make the best of the time I have here. This includes joining new clubs, meeting new people, making lasting memories, and embracing all the opportunities this campus has to offer. I’m ready to take on new challenges and experiences that will help me grow both personally and professionally.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active playing volleyball, soccer, and rock climbing. Outside of the gym, I’m passionate about photography, exploring, reading, and cooking. I love to learn new things, so my hobbies are always expanding!
