Welcome to the Team: Zoe Orie

My name is Zoe Orie and I’m a junior Digital Media and Design major with a concentration in Web and Interactive Media. I also work as a UI/UX Designer for the UConn Digital Experience Group, which has allowed me to expand my web design skills and interact with different clients across the UConn research community.

While I am concentrating on Web and Interactive Media here at UConn, I consider myself to be more of a multidisciplinary designer. I have a strong background and passion for graphic design in addition to my web and UI/UX experience, and I look for opportunities where I can grow my skills in multiple different areas.

I’m super excited to join the team at Greenhouse Studios because of the ability to work on a variety of different projects within a cross-functional, collaborative team. Not to mention, I can’t wait to design in such a beautiful office space. I hope to work on projects involving branding and learn more about user research during my time at Greenhouse.

My dream job is to work as a designer (and eventually creative/art director) at a creative agency in a large city. I haven’t decided on which city that is yet, but New York has been on my list since I thought I was going to grow up to be a Rockette. I’m also open to working in many different design positions- from graphic design and web to UI/UX and product design- I’m interested in it all!

In my free time, I serve as the President of UConn’s chapter of Leading Women of Tomorrow, a club on campus dedicated to advancing women’s leadership and empowerment. I’m very passionate about feminism and enhancing my leadership skills, and I love being a part of a community of amazing, dedicated women on campus. Other than this, I enjoy trying new restaurants, watching movies with my friends, and taking pictures of/petting every cat I see.
